Choosing a Handbag for a Summer Beach Vacation

Look for a tote or messenger bag made from durable and washable materials, such as nylon or cotton. Look for one that has both short handles and a cross-body strap. Make sure the straps are large enough for you to carry the bag comfortably over your shoulder.
Fit What You Need into Your Handbag
Look at the interior of the bag. It should open wide and have a flat bottom and expanding sides. This will help you fit sunscreen, bottled water, and possibly even a towel.
You want a bag with zippered closures to keep sand out. If you can’t find a handbag that zips completely shut, look for one with zippered interior pockets.
Look for a handbag that is roomy, secure, and has a fun color or pattern that will look good on the beach. Choose a bag that you will be able to use after your vacation is over.
Put your cell phone and other electronics in a clear, zippered makeup bag to protect them from sand and water. Keep this bag inside one of the zippered compartments in your larger handbag.
Put your money and credit cards in a wallet with a wrist strap. If you go out to dinner, you can take the wristlet with you, put your phone and hotel key inside, and leave your handbag behind.
